Void Studies

The void is a place of un-knowing.

It is what we don’t know we don’t know.

And there is much of it, which we stand on top of, attempt to ignore, and push out of our awareness.

In several works, I explore these spaces of un-knowing in relation to the history, cultural, and identity of my people, past, present and future. I sit in the miserably uncomfortable space of absence and loss that is assimilation, cultural erasure and immigration in an attempt to allow some “knowings” to reveal themselves.
