Ghatee Meekonam
“Sometimes I just get everything mixed up in my head,” she says, when thinking about her life, our lives, planning the future or trying to.
More accurately, she says:
Bazee mogeha hamechi-o ghatee mekoonam.
Ghatee. It means mixed up. But when used to describe one’s mental state it means being a little crazy, losing it, losing grip, like getting heat stroke or hallucinating.
“What do you want? Would you be happy to move back?”
I have a short fuse for thinking about the future like this. I tell her I can’t talk anymore.
“Why are we even having this conversation?! It’s not like we can make any kind of decision right now.”
